Mapping Services: E911 Mapping

Spectrum Mapping has been working with 911 emergency management agencies to digitally map and assign addresses to all structures in designated project areas.

In order for the addresses to meet National Emergency Number Association (NENA) as well as United States Postal Service standards and guidelines, the following steps are taken in the tabular database design & development stage:

Structure by Structure Unique Address Assignment:
  • Geofile development for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
  • Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) development
  • Linkage of address database file to tax parcel database

Once the addresses are assigned, the E911 system can be applied in various ways:

Digital Mapping:
  • Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) application for location of incoming emergency calls
  • Wireless 911 Phase 2 location application (location of incoming emergency calls on cell phones)
  • Enables local emergency service agencies to produce maps for law enforcement searches, emergency rescue services, and mutual aid agencies
  • Hurricane evacuation planning and routing FEMA damage location and assessment following disasters

County and Municipal Government:
  • Planning and Zoning
  • School Bus Routing
  • Local and Federal Emergency Management Association
  • Local Emergency Service dispatch and response agencies (E911 Centers, Fire Departments, Law Enforcement Agencies, Emergency Medical Services)
  • Voter Registration Offices for district Precinct Assignment
  • Census preparation
