Spectrum Mapping, LLC is a full service cadastral mapping, GIS and conversion services
company providing data and services to local government and engineering firms.
Spectrum has extensive experience in cadastral mapping and associated services culminating
in hundreds of projects completed and hundreds of thousands of tax parcels mapped. Spectrum
can provide mapping products that enable local governments and engineering firms to unlock
the potential behind hard copy data or existing digital data enabling better planning,
prediction and problem solving. Applications for cadastral data range from basic tax
assessment to chamber of commerce, urban/rural planning, real estate and school district uses.
Full Re-Mapping from Deed/Plat using COGO is the most intensive cadastral product
Spectrum has to offer. All property ownership documents (deeds, hardcopy maps, right
of way plans, subdivision plats, etc.) in the County are optically scanned and indexed.
Spectrum uses this information to build a county-wide cadastral layer, one parcel at a
time, using coordinate geometry, or COGO.
Cadastral Conversion from Hardcopy Sources is a method of creating a tax parcel, or
cadastral database from existing hardcopy documents. This method is more effective
when there is high confidence that the existing sources are complete, accurate and
somewhat geospatially controlled.
Cadastral Conversion from Digital Sources utilizes existing digital maps in much the
same way as a conversion from hardcopy would. Spectrum will acquire the drawings
and/or plans, convert them to a common digital format, and tie them together using
an existing base map (usually digital orthophotography).
Cadastral Maintenance is a service that Spectrum provides due to the understanding
that changes to property ownership occur on a daily basis in every county tax office.
As an alternative to training staff and buying equipment and software, some counties
select a vendor to perform maintenance on their digital tax maps. This service can
be provided on a regular basis by simply having any transfers, splits, combinations,
and new subdivisions submitted to Spectrum.
