Ways to Reduce Stress

Stress can take toll on you both physically and mentally. It can overwhelm you and make your life unbearable Emotional signs of stress are anxiety, fear, mental anguish, frustration, anger, and hopelessness. We have to learn to recognize what it is that is causing the stress in our lives.
There are many things that you can do to relieve stress. Take a walk, either alone , or with a friend.  Enjoy the scenery, smell the fresh air, watch the sunset. Take yoga lessons. Yoga is well known for relieving stress of both body and mind. Get some exercise.  Join a gym and go there often. Practice deep breathing exercises. Go dancing, and enjoy yourself, leaving the pressures of every day life behind for a few hours. Laugh!  Rent a funny movie, and laugh out loud, or rent a sad movie, and cry. Tears relieve stress. Listen to music.  Music soothes the soul and relaxes you like nothing else. Classical music is a wonderful stress reliever. Aromatherapy relaxes you, also.Do something that you do just for the fun of it.  Cook, play with a pet, read that book that you have been putting off.Take a mini vacation, even if it is a  day trip out of town. Learn to meditate. Play games online, or with family at home. Have a 'family game night', and plan one for one night every week.  It will give you something to look forward to. Sometimes just sitting quietly and thinking about all you have to be grateful for will relax you.Write down all the things in your life that are causing you stress, and deal with them one at a time.
